My Story

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, I am a 23-year-old university athlete with a passion for basketball. Like many of you, l've spent my life immersed in various sports, but it was the thrill of the court that truly captured my heart and is what I chose to pursue.

My basketball journey has not been without its challenges. One of the most persistent issues I've faced is finding basketball gear, specifically gear that fits me properly. It wasn't until my first year of university basketball that we were provided with shorts, jerseys, and compression shirts, giving me access to a wide range of gear. Yet, even then, the fit was far from perfect. The shorts were clearly designed for men, resulting in an uncomfortable fit around the quads and an awkward length in the crotch.

Additionally, finding basketball shoes in women's sizes, whether online or in-store, felt like an impossible task. I often found myself trying on a men's size 10 in-store, only to order online later. Sometimes I would order multiple pairs just to ensure I got the right size. Why is it difficult to buy a Kyrie Irving shoe in a women's size 8? Or Steph Curry or Sabrina Ionescu? It's a frustrating process that begs the question: Why don't female athletes have a dedicated platform where they can buy sports shoes in their size and sports apparel and accessories designed to fit them?

This is why I am stepping up to make a change. This business is NOT BASKETBALL ONLY! I am working with other female athletes in a variety of different sports to create women's soccer shorts, rugby shorts, volleyball spandex in cute colors, golf apparel, and so much more! This is my calling, my way of giving back to the ALL sports community.

The struggle starts with the shopping experience: In addition to our online platform, Itfits aims to bring the shopping experience directly to you through pop-up shops in various locations and sports tournaments. I understand that not everyone prefers online shopping (like me!), and I want to ensure that our customers have the opportunity to try our products in person.

Itfits is built on real insights from real female athletes. I am committed to understanding your needs and providing solutions to the challenges you face in finding suitable sports gear. If there's something you need for your sport that you can't find, I will strive to provide it. There will be many ways for you to send me your insight and suggestions! My vision doesn't stop at pop-up shops. Once we're up and running, I plan to establish a permanent store in my hometown of Calgary, AB. But I won't stop there. My goal is to expand to multiple locations, bringing Itfits closer to female athletes everywhere. I envision Itfits to be the first platform for women in all sports, where they can buy footwear and sports apparel designed specifically for them.
